Always test available signatures, e.g.,
> pgpk -a KEYS
> pgpv LogKit-1.0-bin.tar.gz.asc
or,
> pgp -ka KEYS
> pgp LogKit-1.0-bin.tar.gz.asc
or,
> gpg --import KEYS
> gpg --verify LogKit-1.0-bin.tar.gz.asc
